The AEG JII was developed from the earlier JI, and was overall a larger and more developed than it's predecessor.Work started in 1918 but with the end of the war and the restrictions imposed by the Allied War Commission most German bombers were destroyed and aircraft of such size were banned from flying. The JII perhaps because of it's smaller size was allowed to be developed into a passenger aircraft capable of carrying two passengers in a limousine style body, which can be seen in the lower of the two photographs. some 23 machines flew with Deutsche Aero Lloyd and Deutsche Luft - Reederei (DLR).
