The Do 215 was a version of the Do 17Z with DB 601
engines. The first aircraft built were intended for
export to Sweden, but never delivered. The Do 215 was
used by the Luftwaffe in night bomber, reconnaissance
and nightfighter versions. Two were delivered to the
USSR in 1940, and in 1942 four were handed over to

For many of the physical details, search for Do-17Z details. The airframes were very similar. The greatest difference was the engines, being Daimler-Benz liquid cooled inverted V-12, instead of Bramo 9 cylinder air-cooled radial.
