The Mansyu Hikoki Seizo Kabushiki Kaisha manufactured the Nakajima Ki 27 Hyerbusa (Oscar) and took it upon themselves to manufacture a training aircraft based on that design. Known as the Army Type 2 Advanced Trainer it was available in four models. The all metal Ki 79a single seat and the similar two seat Ki 79b.The Ki 79c single seat and Ki 79d two seat powered by Hitachi Ha 23 were constructed of wood and metal.

After the war the Russians and the Chinese captured many and the Chinese hired former Japanese pilots to train the Chinese in the art of flying using these machines.

The Mansyu Nakajima factory built the Ki 84 Hayate. It also tried the reliable Ki 46 engine on a Ki 84 and it was test flown as the 385 mph Ki 116 Hayate at the end of the war. The same engine was used by the 367 mph Ki 100. This engine was available for many years. Too bad it wasn't utilized to make Tonys and Franks more reliable years earlier.

I think its a manchurian built version of the Nakajima Ki 27 Nate, built by lokal factories there, as far as I know!
