CASA C-212 Aviocar

Rafael Barrón Medrano, e-mail, 19.01.2010 21:18 Comenzó el anteproyecto en 1966, como avión de transporte ligero y carga, para despegue y aterrizaje STOL, equipado con dos turbinas Garrett TPE-331-2 de 755hp. El prototipo realizó el primer vuelo el 26-III-1971, pilotado por el probador de CASA Ernesto Nienhuisen y el mecánico Sr. Flor. El segundo prototipo voló el 23-X-1971. Después fué dotado con motores Garrett 331-5 con un 3% más de potencia que los anteriores Se presentó en el Salón de Le Bourgé en 1971 con hélices cuetripalas. CASA entregó el prototipo en el INTA el 27-III-1973 para su homologación antes de adquirirlo el Ejército del Aire. Fué identificado como XT.12-1. Desde el primer momento en el INTA, fué pilotado por el Capitán Rafael Barrón Medrano, perteneciente al 406 Escuadrón de Experimentación en Vuelo y el Sargento mecá_ nico Sr. Aramendía. Cumplimentando las Ordenes de Ensayo para la homologación de dicho avión, que termina el 16-V-74 habiendo volado más de 240 horas. Tomó parte el día de Puertas Abiertas,(3-X-1973) en Zaragoza, para demostrar todas las posibilidades del avión. Voló con un peso de 6000Kg pilotado por R.Barrón M. Despegue STOL,a 60m, ocho horizontal con un motor parado y 70º de inclinación, pasada a velocidad mínima 75Kts y toma STOL, rodaje marcha atrás hasta salida de rodadura. El avión entra en servicio, en España,para el Ejército del Aire en 1974. En 1983 el C.212-200 en versión SAR, con turbina Garrett de 900hp. Varias versiones fueron vendidas a Portugal, RIAF,EEUU Malta,Indonesia, Corea del Sur,Tailadia,Gabón, Suiza,Zaire Austria, Perú, Costa Rica,Uruguay, Argentina, Venezuela, Abu Dhabi y Panamá entre otros muchos paises.
