Designed and built at the request of the army after they had come second with an MB-3 in the 1920 Pulitzer Trophy air race, there were three MB-6 constructed. One was for ground testing the other two were for participation in the 1921 race. The third model crashed whilst landing prior to the race, but the second one came third behind two Curtis types. It was scrapped on 31 st October 1924.
