Sometimes looks can be deceiving. It's hard to believe from it's appearance, but this was actually a very good airplane: sturdy, stable, easy to fly and efficient. However like most pre-WW-I designs, it suffered from a lack of speed, maneuverability and poor crew placement (the pilot was seated behind the observer, who had a limited view and field of fire). Nevertheless, it was a successful reconnaissance plane early in WW-I, as well as a good training airplane throughout the war.

I like the lower picture of the 60 hp G 2 here. However what I would really like is a set of detailed plans and drawings of the aircraft as we (South Canterbury Aviation Heritage Centre, a voluntary New Zealand group) would like very much to build a museum replica of the machine. Can you help or give us any leads please?
