Barry, 01.12.2016 17:55 There were some 8 different versions with five different engines. The spec. on this page is for the G31fo, a subsequent model the G31ho featured Pratt & Whitney built engines. The G.31 offered a level of comfort far in excess of what was available elsewhere at that time, but because of it's initial high cost and running costs it was not a success. One was eventually impressed by the RAAF in January 1942 but this crashed into the Air Minister's car at Laverton Victoria on 31st October that year. Although at first thought to be a "write off" it returned to flight as a freighter in New Guinea after the war.
