The NSDAP, the Dornier, and seig heil went the way of the hula hoop in 1945 - Looks as if some ideologies are difficult to release.

More a question - what was the operational radius with a max internal and external load of the D0 217M

My only acquaintance with that very nice aircraft :May 3rd 1944 at the airfield Fassberg GR+ZR a few "Platzrunden " , I never had a chance to pick one up at the factory.

Great plane, for it's time! I have a 1/48 Revell kit and I found a lot of 3 views and color profiles, spendng many hours on the net. Unfortunatelly, most of the photos are only WWII black&white, so it's rather difficult to see details. But I think that the kit is generous enough.

DO-217...MEIN NAZI LUFTWAFFE,DANKE SEHR!DANKE SEHR.SEIG HEIL!

G Davis, e-mail, 11.09.2007 02:21

A stout and not big bomber that served the Luftwaffe well, with features like automatic dive brakes, armored protection for crew as well as engines, and a form of self sealing fuel tanks made the 217 a plane to be reckoned with, and the nightfighter a plane perfect for it's mission
