Designed by Eric Gordon England this series of aeroplanes were built with a view to easy transportation and quick disassembly. The first model the GE1 was designed as a side by side trainer and was sold to the Deutsche Bristol Werke but was found unsuitable and returned to Filton where it was scrapped.
The GE2 was an enlarged version with a 40ft wingspan and a length of 31ft. Two models were produced one with a 14 cylinder Gnome double rotary engine rated at 100 h.p. and a second model with a seriously underpowered 4 cylinder water cooled in line Daimler engine developing 70 h.p. Both aircraft were entered into British military aircraft trials the Daimler engine model being far too underpowered, and the other suffering an accident early in the competition.
Not all was lost as the Turkish government ordered two GE3 models which featured tandem seating. Problems with flexing of the wing spars delayed their delivery and subsequent blockades by the Italian government precluded their ultimate delivery.
