Thanks for your reply Loudon. I have a DVD of your Student flying at the world model jet championships. Not the best outcome, but a very nice looking model. Great the way other modellers pitched in to help, it says something about the modelling community. My plan to build a Student stalled when I became ill, but I am a lot better now. Sad to hear of Derek Emsley passing, I had some contact with him & Marion when I started researching. They, along with Ken Fostekew & others were very helpful. Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Eric.

Clive B, I remember seeing the flight when I was in the Witterings, took off from the Thorny Island NS facility. Does anyone know if the construction planes-drawings exist anywhere?. Today with the newer small high thrust turbines avaialable from Garret etc and the new composite/alloys for fabrication would make an excellent small commuter jet plus would be very economical. Let me know as I used to work for Vickers/BAC/BAE years ago.

This aircraft was used for resonance and acoustic tests with an extended tailpipe nearly reaching between the fins. It was damaged in a forced landing when the intake collapsed and was sucked into the engine.

As young lad, I remember seeing Mr George Miles fly the Student during a 'Fly In' day at Shoreham back in the fifties.{1955 possibly}
