Mahmout Bin Walid, 11.01.2022 04:42

Habibi,
You were not part of the team, I was part of the team. Dont make a lie.

arnulf Jursa, e-mail, 02.09.2021 13:48

No, my dear Gezira, in order to understand, what we did between 1960 and 1967, you have to talk to someone who was part of the team, like me.

So, what ever you would like to know ... just aks !

Regards,
Arnulf

Gezira, e-mail, 19.04.2020 14:02

In order to understand the history of the HA-300, one has to look at contemporary history and the (aircraft) engineers of the NS era. Many of them were then recruited by a central figure named Ferdinand Brandner to develop the Hispanic Aviation 300 aka HA-300 in Cairo, which Messerschmidt first designed for the Spanish. It was German engineers who had developed the aircraft in Egypt. Ferdinand Brandner wrote the book "Zwischen den Fronten" - a book worth reading!

erasmusguy, e-mail, 30.08.2017 14:28

Barry, Dassault did approach Fairey Aviation and there was some collaboration between the two. In return for technical data Dassault gave Fairey use of the test facilities at Cazaux.

To Mr. Yahia Al Shaer
All the links mentioned in your post are not available.
Are you still pursuing your project?
If yes, what are the links?
Thank you

Yehia Shalash, e-mail, 21.06.2017 19:30

To Mr. Ali Baba
I am collecting information about the subject.
Can you please leave me an email address where I can communicate with you privately?
Thank you

Ali Baba, e-mail, 19.05.2016 09:02

Hi Folks,
I think, I can clarify a few things. I have worked in the aircraft factory 135 from 1960 up to 1967. We have then employed 5.000 Egyptians in our factory, which we have built from scap as a greenfield project. We have developed and built the jet engine whereas Messerschmitt (factory 36) has built the airoplane. So, if you have any questions, just let me know.

Paul Scott, e-mail, 27.01.2015 22:08

True, the Mirage was more than likely the result of seeing the Fairey Delta 2 flying over the Dassault factory and the French are not one for shilly-shallying like the British, who, have the experience and knowledge but because of their lacklustre politicians fail to utilise potential.

David, e-mail, 05.10.2014 20:22

Wonder if performance would be improved with a smaller rudder and tail assembly

Ali Moussa, e-mail, 21.09.2014 05:20

My late Brother Mustafa Moussa and many friends were part of this project. I visited the place in early 1967 and it was main target for the Israeli offensive war of 1967. In 1968 Israel stole the blueprints of the French Mirage 2 and the it was most likely with the knowledge and collaboration of the French Government. It is now 47 years since then. Nobody knows what went on during this period except that the Egyptians took their revenge in the war of 1973 against all the odds. Without America's intervention in the Youm Kiporot war Israel would have had a defeat at a grand scale.

Barry, 16.09.2013 18:13

No way did the French steal the idea of the Mirage from this diminutive aeroplane. They more likely stole the idea from the Fairy Delta 2 which after it's record breaking flights in Britain went to Toulon and continued it's research there.

Omar, e-mail, 06.01.2013 16:06

did egypt invent this jet by itself?

ADF-01, 01.02.2012 19:54

Looks cool bro.

Mohamed Mokhtar, e-mail, 05.12.2011 00:42

Mark: But Messerschitt began his program on the 300 for Spain as early as 1952..There is no point to say who copied who..Development must build on what initially existed..True science and good knowledge tend to be of universal nature..Complementary,Integral and inclusion rather than exclusion..That's the way it ought to be..

Mohamed Bahaa it's because the 67 war,Israel tried to break the Egyptian plans in every thing that had could been made in this time

Yahia Al Shaer, e-mail, 29.11.2009 20:31

There were thre units

HA-300 V.1 (Versuchsmodel 1)

This was the unit, where modifications on the fuselage were implemented and other corrections to the structure itself

HA-300 V.2 (Versuchsmodel 2)

This was the , which flew SUPERSONIC and you can see its photos as well within the link, I write at the bottom of my lines

HA-300 V.3 (Versuchsmodel 3)

This was the (pre-series production) unit

The HA-300 V.1 is being displyed in the Deutsches Museum - Oberschleissheim

The Ha-300 V.2 and V.3 are still in Cairo .....

You can see the Gentleman on the towing truck and is waving with his arm ..

He is the one, "Moustafa Abdel-Wahab" who mentioned, that he was working himself on the co-development of that great fighte A/C

can anyone help me know how to become a fighter pilot in Egypt?
I know it sounds silly.. but I never really knew.

Thanks!

abcdef, e-mail, 14.07.2008 17:12

it is the old time
can not return

Moustafa Abdel-Wahab, e-mail, 11.04.2008 16:57

I have worked myself on that great airplane at the Helwan plant, it is a pitty that it was not produced.

Aviator, e-mail, 28.03.2008 19:38

an informative article about Helwan-300,
http://www.e-sac.org/articles/scripts/article.php?id=13&tit=Helwan-300%3A+The+Egyptian+Interceptor+Project&cat=avart

Marc, e-mail, 19.02.2008 14:21

I liked this fighter, a nice effort by Egypt with its foreign partners to bring it to the fore. Mind you, I don't think it's fair to say France took its inspiration from it - more the other way around, as the Mirage III started development in the mid 1950's

Mohamed Bahaa, e-mail, 15.11.2007 03:03

I also have a very confusing contradiction, nearly all references state that the first maiden flight for HA-300 was on 1964, but the indian test pilot who flew the aircraft says the flight was on 1963, so where's teh truth ??
http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/History/1960s/Kapil-HA300.html

Mohamed Bahaa, e-mail, 15.11.2007 03:01

Thank you so much for your reply, but let me get this clear, you want to say Helwan 200 and 300 are two variants with two diferent uses but they're the same aircraft ??

mahamed, 10.09.2007 15:18

this is ALQAHIRA-300 not HELWAN
HELWAN is a premier traning plane with front engine

but ALQAHIRA was have 2 versions :
1- ALQAHIRA-200 FOR essintial traning with 2 seats
2- ALQAHIRA-300 for ground support

Mohamed Bahaa, e-mail, 27.08.2007 17:33

I have visited the no. 36 factory in Egypt myself, i heard this aircraft was something to be proud of in its times, i even heard that the French took their ispiration for Mirages fromthis aircraft, the question is: Why was the program terminated??? with no resumes after ????
