I was recovering from a motor accident in 1963 & worked
as an employee for Victa Mowers at Milperra. the Victa airtourer was being assembled in the building behind the mower assembly plant, the production was slow, there was not
many people involved, but a lot were produced over time.

I had a bit to do with the Victa. In 1964 as a school kid, I saw the prototype Victa Aircruiser with I believe the 180hp Lycoming. I believe this actually became the basis of the CT4. In 1966 I was with DH at Bankstown and was subsidised to learn on the Victa 115 at a subsidiary Hoxton Park Flying School who had 3 Victas. There was a tariff enquiry in 1966 and DH had to balance between the rubber press work, Victa wing ribs brought against their revenue of selling Beechcraft imported aircraft. Later I was given most of a Rolls Royce - Continental 100Hp destined for the Victa line, recovered minutes after RR had put a heavy ball pein hammer through the crankcase

In about 1962 as a Naval Artificer Apprentice in Naval Air Station HMAS Nirimba, Schofields NSW, I witnessed the test flying of a prototype Victa 180, a single engined (Lyco 180) 3 seat, retractable u/c, low gullwing w/top strut support and high flying tail plane, fully aerobatic, what happened to it?

A strengthened version of this aircraft with larger engine was named the CT-4 and is the primary training aircraft for the RAAF and several other services.

I flew one of these at Bankstown and did aerobatic training and flights in the late 1960's made by the Victa lawnmover company john-d

I flew these in the early sixties at Bankstown NSW. It had flaperons if I remember correctly, and was very sensitive to (side-stick) roll input, in comparison to the Chipmunk.

The aerobatic +6g -3g Victa Airtourer was made in 100hp and 115hp models.
After being sold to AESL NZ it had a further power increase to 150hp with c/s prop.
