Built in Chorley Lancashire by Moss Brothers Aircraft, it was in fact a development of the earlier open topped Moss MA1. It first flew on the 14th May 1939. After a short flying career in the U.K. it was shipped to Canada and became the lightest aircraft to fly over the Canadian Rockies. After storage it returned to the U.K. where it was bought by W H Moss who flew it in the Kings Cup Air Race. It was sold to the Fairwood Flying Group in Wales and eventually it was destroyed in a crash at Builth Wells 7th July 1958.
