The KA-35 has the "blow-down-on-the-wing problem in helo mode, same as V-22. In forward mode it reacts much like a biplane, but its smaller non-supersonic tip speed rotors give it a considerable advantage over the V-22. It is far less complex, cheaper and easier to maintain. In the panic mode, if the rotors are hit in combat, one experimental version can roll back the rotors and land as a conventional A/C.

The KA-35 is a compound helo, Able to have smaller rotors since thrust is provided by axial jets. The stubs are too small for the rotors to fold. Speed is probably at least equals V-22, due to compound design. If speed were slower than 300 its. they would have used turbo-props.Great payload. About 100 equipped troops (versus 23 for V-22

How does this reconcile rotary wing with fixed wing lift in horizontal flight? With the Osprey, the fans are rotated forward and are essentially propellers. This design would seem to limit the horizontal speed to the same as any helicopter design (no more than about 300 mph at best). Am I missing something here? Do the rotors fold in flight?

i think this is preposterous

Info I contributed to Wikipedia:
The Kamov Ka-35 is a projected heavy jet-powered rotary-wing aircraft. It contains two four-blade rotors side-by-side on wings with turbojet engines for in-flight exelleration. Little is known of this aircraft, but photos of a model exist in several places.

This one looks hardcore. Awesome!

Yes this is a great aircraft, Have they thought about starting to produce them, it would be great for passenger, and cargo transportation.
