Aerokopter AK1-3

Aerokopter was established on 14 December 1999 to develop light rotorcraft. It was briefly associated with what, on 3 May 2000, became the separate Aviaimpex design bureau, also active in Ukraine.

AEROKOPTER ZA-6 SAN'KA

TYPE: Two-seat helicopter.

PROGRAMME: First flown in 1999.

CURRENT VERSIONS: ZA-6 - as described.

AK-1: Development - described separately.

CUSTOMERS: Operators include Ukraine AeroClub.

DESIGN FEATURES: Conventional pod-and-boom helicopter with five-blade main rotor and two-blade tail rotor mounted on port side. High agility. Power plan:, fuel tanks and gear box mounted externally, to/ear of crew pod.

FLYING CONTROLS: Manual.

STRUCTURE: Metal and composites.

LANDING GEAR: Twin skids.

POWER PLANT: One 119kW Subaru EJ22 flat-four. Fuel capacity 80 litres.

ACCOMODATION: Two persons, side by side.

AEROKOPTER AK-1

TYPE: Two-seat helicopter.

PROGRAMME: Two-stage development of ZA-6: initially involving one of the latter (registered GL-0478, shown at Manufacturing & Security Exhibition, Kiev, September 2002), designated AK-1-5 (five-blade mam rotor). At the same event, the uncompleted AK-1-3 prototype was shown with the definitive three blade rotor, .starboard side tail rotor and twin vertical fins mounted on horizontal tail surfaces. Marketing agreements are in place with agents in Australia, France, Italy and Spain.

Aerokopter AK1-3

The Aerocopter company was founded in 1999 by I.V. Polituchy, A.N. Zapishny, and A.I. Polituchy with the purpose of creating a design office for creating and experimentally producing a light helicopter. After conducting marketing research, it was decided to create a light two-seat helicopter with a piston engine and an airborne weight of 650-700kg.

The first experimental helicopter was flown on October 12, 2001. This helicopter was used for many ground and factory tests so that constructional elements could be improved and engineering processes for units and parts could be worked through. The second AK1-3 was flown in July 2003.

Aerokopter AK1-5 Sanka

Aerokopter AK1-5 Sanka was a first our helicopter. Now production of this model is stopped.

Aerokopter AK1-3

Aerokopter AK1-3 is a light helicopter, which can be used for a range of practical purposes:

  • monitoring facilities and territories;
  • search missions;
  • geological exploration, aerial photography;
  • pilot technique learning and air crew training;
  • aerial chemical work;
  • business and pleasure flights;
  • participating in aerial sports competitions.

The design and the price of the AK1-3 make it the most preferable aircraft in its category. The very safe and environmental friendly rotorcraft complies with the FAR 27 Regulations.

The AK1-3 helicopter complies with the requirements of JAR 27 and international noise abatement requirements. The helicopter is equipped with a small diameter rotor and skid-equipped landing gear, which enables it to land on small landing grounds. The empty helicopter weighs 370kg, making it possible to transport it in a small car trailer.

Aerokopter AK1-3CX

The AK1-3CX helicopter is a further development of the basic model and is designed for aerial spraying of crops with chemicals using 1-40 liters per hectare. The helicopter’s general dimensions and construction are similar to those of the basic model. The helicopter is equipped with a unit of quick-detachable equipment for spraying liquid chemicals, including the ULV technique. The unit of equipment consists of two tanks (140 liters each), which are mounted on either side of the cockpit, spray booms with struts, a rotary pump, connection hoses, and a control unit. The whole unit weighs 34kg.

In aerokopter must be something wrong, also I tried to contact with aerokopter marketing, two years about, but nothing, strange, so I asking my self, If I buy this helicopter and than have problems with parts and never get nobady on aerkopter service, can be dezaster. There seems to be a disconnect between the production and marketing arms of this company. Maybe it is the Ukranian language difference and most people speak English.
My father tried to get an agency and prices for distribution 3 years ago and got nowhere.
No production schedules or delivery comittments.

Does anybody know the current prices and availability of these attractive machines or the running costs per hour etc?
