Emile Berliner's son, Henry, continued exploring vertical flight machines when his father suffered a nervous breakdown in 1914. In June 1919, Henry Berliner built a machine with two co-axial propellers with vanes to vector the downwash for pitch control. Hovering flights again had to be steadied.
