The notar was a waste of time,The engineers I talked to wanted an elipitical cross section on the tail ,It has a yaw instability that flickers the tail in forward flight,The added drag slows the top speed and proformance at altitude is less then a standard 500, and the mechanics are more critical lots more parts,In some cases the tails just fail in flight.(Fall off)Not a good idea......

The NOTAR config works on a certain fluid dynamics phenomenon called Coanda effect which simply means that a fluid (in this case air) when it flows over a body tends to stick to the body if it is curved. What they do with such choppers is create a duct and a fan inside to direct the air blown from the main rotor fans on the side of the tail shaft. The location of the duct is such that the air flowing around it opposes the torque of the main rotor. Controlling how much air the duct allows to pass through you can control the direction of the helicopter.

This helicopter design has a good concept of eliminating the anti torque device like tail rotor blade which is very dangerous during combat but i have Helicopter design which will eliminate any kind of anti torque device but with only single main rotor, surpriced it's a reality,contact me if you want to know the details +91-9980419072
