Current name for former Gulfstream American Corporation. As Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, sold to Chrysler Corporation 1985 but repurchased March 1990. Rights to light aircraft range sold to American General Aircraft Corporation 1989. Gulfstream IV twin-turbofan long-range business jet first flown September 1985 and remains in production, together with various special-purpose variants including the SRA-4 for mainly military roles including electronic warfare, search and rescue, anti-submarine/ ship, and communications. New Gulfstream V global business jet first flew November 1995; also forms the platform for an ASTOR contender under Lockheed Martin leadership.
