FINLAND

Soon after Second World War Valtion Lentokonetehdas (q.v.) was integrated into this larger group (State Metal Works, Aircraft Factory) with other nationally owned metalworking factories. Works were at Tampere (main plant), Linnavuori (aero engines) and Kuorevesi (aircraft repairs). First postwar product was the Vihuri two-seat advanced trainer, built for Finnish Air Force. Known from 1958 by shortened title of Valmet Oy (q.v.).
