Two models produced the first was a single seater powered by a 50 h.p. Continental A50 engine (see photograph) which first flew in June 1937 only to be destroyed in a crash later that year. The Pobjoy Niagara III powered second aircraft, the Mark II, was larger and could accommodate two. Both aircraft was designed and built by Errol Spencer Shapley in Torquay Devon England. The Mark II was stored during the war only to crash on Dartmoor in December 1946.
Data refers to Mk II

re KITTEWAKE, by Shapley 2nd message

I will start again, my father and two other men built it in 1937 /38 . a Captain F Symodson was the test pilot (Photo) I have a press cutting and two photographs with the engine running , they are somewhat in need of professional care as the emulsion is cracking a little.

The press cutting tels a lot but what little gleaned from my family father tells more which I am essaying.
