Gerin Varivol

Jacques Gerin, Boulogne-sur-Seine, Paris, was a pioneer of aircraft with variable wing area. Seven years of research led to biplane flown March 1936, with unique wings along which additional leading and trailing edges could be extended, which increased the area from 6.3m2 to 26m2.
