It was used by Beech as a demonstration model for subsequent production sales. In addition to the nose baggage compartment, a 'belly box' was added to increase capacity for large items like golf clubs or skis. Engines were Pratt & Whitney PT-6. image.jpeg

Greg Art, e-mail, 09.03.2011 04:00 I flew the Beech 99 for Conoco Oil Company in the late 70's on a corporate shuttle. What a workhorse, very relieable, would carry the load and was very stable. We flew 19 passengers between Ponca City, Tulsa, Wichita and Houston for many years. The aircraft was fast and comfortable. It's large baggage compartment in the nose was A real plus.
