AUSTRALIA

Built the Bristol Beaufort under license, with a great deal of local redesign of parts and detail. Some 700 were built, 1939-1943, as well as 364 Beaufighters (1943-1945) and some Lancasters. After the war was renamed Division of Aircraft Production, Department of Supply and Development. From 1946 production switched to Lincoln B Mk 30 (73 built). Canberras were produced at the Department's plant at Fisherman's Bend.
