The Town of Narva

Estonia. Castle of Narva Fortress of Ivangorod Fortress of Ivangorod

The North Eastern border town of Narva offers visitors a tour of one of the best preserved fortresses in Estonia. The fortress at Narva was long an important defense for the Estonian territories, and even now stares ominously across
the river at the opposing Russian fortress of Ivangorod, a mere cannon shot away. Narva is also home to the Kreenholm Textile Factory. Founded on an island in the Narva river in 1857, the factory offers tours inside one of Estonia's largest manufacturing ventures. The Narva Falls, boasting one of Northern Europe's largest spillway capacities, is also worth seeing (I doubt it's possible now - it works only a few days in spring and even then you should enter the border zone to see water falling :().

And just 12km from Narva is the coastal resort town of Narva-Jõesuu offering beautiful beaches, clear water and plenty of accomodation possibilities.
